I decided to stop posting to this Blog and instead post directly to my FaceBook page, facebook.com/abcomputersolutions
I did this for a few reasons.
- WordPress lets you connect a blog to facebook so when I post to facebook, it automatically posts to facebook also. And I got this to work with my normal, personal facebook account. But I couldn’t figure out how to get it to work with the page for my business, facebook.com/abcomputersolutions
- The only comments I ever got were from client/friends who I was friends with on facebook already. So I just thought it would be easier to just do it all on facebook.
- I’m starting to use facebook more and more for other things so it’s just easier to do it all in one place.
- Once someone has logged into facebook, it’s easier for them to leave a comment because they don’t have to do any captcha nonsense.

I took a family trip last week and accidentally left my iPhone in the car in the airport parking lot. After returning and charging my phone, it worked fine (wifi and apps) except that it could get no phone service. After taking it to the Apple Store, the Apple genius connected it to his MacBook which told him that it had gotten to 135 degrees 6 different times and that this could break the cell antenna. But luckily after he reset the networking configuration (which erased all my saved wifi passwords ) my phone got service.
Finished!
I finally finished Mr Siracusa’s OS Lion review
http://arstechnica.com/apple/reviews/2011/07/mac-os-x-10-7.ars
It almost took me as long to read it as it did to install Lion.
iPhone glass repair
$30 later and the shattered back of my iPhone is shiny new. Now when I buy the new iPhone when it comes out I can give my iPhone 4 to Cara.
spam
I just checked my spam folder in gmail and I had less than 300 which really surprised me. I used to consistently get 200 a day. And since gmail keeps 30 days worth of spam, I would always have about about 6000 spam emails. Maybe “we” are winning the war against the spambot networks?
Full time
Today is my first day of full time work since November 2009 when I started working part time. I’m still doing the same job – computer consulting for Houston small business. My wife and I decided that she would quit her job and stay home with Ani, our 2 year old daughter. June 1 was her last day at work. For the past 2 years I’ve been working part time but I never really accepted the fact that I was working full time. I was always about 30% over booked which meant I had to frequently work on the weekends at nights. So, of course, there is concern about getting enough work. But after doing this work 15 years and starting out at part time plus 30%, I’m confident that I will soon be plenty busy.
I’d like to give a shout out to all of my clients who have stuck with me for many years. I literally owe you the roof over my head and food in my belly. Thank you!
website
I just updated my website with the iPhone apps I use and what I recommend for Windows security.
